Sure, Colton has made it perfectly clear what kind of music he wants to pursue (Christian Alternative Rock), but so has Jessica (R&B/Pop a la Beyonce), Skylar (Country/Rock a la Miranda Lambert), and Joshua (Soul/Gospel.. yeah, don’t even get me started on the whole ‘he’s too Church-y for America!!!’ argument).

And why can’t two country singers win two seasons in a row? Haven’t we seen singer-songwriter types take the title during the last few seasons of this show? Why can’t we have a FEMALE pop diva crowned as our next American Idol for the first time in, oh, four years?

If you were really paying attention to her on Idol, you will see that she was one of the most humble contestants to ever grace that stage. At times, she even appeared shy and self-cautious (which she admits to in interviews).

And not had a good voice, HAS a good voice.
